According to the Head of the Institute, Dr. Julianna Giannoutsou, the forum is designed to present theoretical and practical realities of international and local philanthropy as well as create a platform for dialogue between government, NGO, and business leaders.
“Philanthropy is essential for prosperity of democratic countries. Lithuania’s philanthropic sector is very small and needs encouragement. This is the task of the Institute for Philanthropy at LCC International University. The mission of the Institute is to inspire individual philanthropy among citizens of Lithuania, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia by raising their awareness of global and local societal needs, as well as helping them to internalize the principles of giving and serving,” says Dr. Giannoutsou.
Speakers will include Klaipėda Mayor Vytautas Grubliauskas, Member of Lithuanian Parliament Remigijus Šimašius, Dr. Marty Sulek from Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy, Dr. Eglė Vaidelytė from Kaunas University of Technology, Advisor to the President of SEB bankas and Head of Sustainability Alex Gibb, Inga Langaitė from Aukok, Thomas and Barbara Hughes from Alliance for Children Everywhere, and others.
